Sony Pictures is juggling a number of its 2023 releases as it looks to move on from the Covid-hangover of 2022. As part of a number of release-date changes, S.J. Clarkson’s Madame Web movie is shifting its dates by three months.
The film, which recently began principal photography, had been due for release on July 7, 2023. But now the Spider-Verse-set movie will instead make its debut in cinemas on October 6 of the same year.
Dakota Johnson is starring as the titular spider-themed psychic. All bets are off as to whether Johnson is starring as the Cassandra Webb or Julia Carpenter incarnation of the character, or a secret third, original option. The cast also includes Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, and Mike Epps. Last week it was confirmed that Adam Scott had joined the cast.
The changes don’t impact on the Aaron Taylor-Johnson starring Kraven the Hunter. That film remains in its January 13, 2023 release date.
