It’s been a while since we had news on when Star Trek: Lower Decks would be returning to our screens. But the release of a new poster has confirmed the animated comedy will return to Paramount+ in the US in August 2022.
For a while there have been rumours the third season would debut in August. Both of the previous seasons debuted during the same month. We expect a new trailer for season 3 to debut any day now.
Here’s a look at the brand new artwork for season 3, which debuts in the US on August 25, 2022.
Season 3 continues Lower Decks tradition of matching its artwork to an original Star Trek movie. This time its Star Trek III: The Search for Spock with Rutherford (Eugene Cordero) taking the place of Leonard Nimoy’s legendary Vulcan. Above the cast we can see the U.S.S. Cerritos in battle with a Klingon Bird of Prey. Could the Klingons be about to make trouble for our crew?
At the time of writing no UK premiere date has been confirmed for the new season. We’ll keep you posted on when Prime Video makes the announcement.
Created by Rick & Morty writer Mike McHMahan, Star Trek: Lower Decks features the voices of Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells and Eugene Cordero as the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Star Trek: Lower Decks are available to stream now on Prime Video.
