Earlier today we learned that Warner Bros. upcoming Batgirl film has secured itself a 2023 theatrical release here in the UK. Another upcoming DC Comics film has also found itself confirmed as shifting from a streaming debut to the big screen.
Blue Beetle, which recently wrapped principal photography, has been confirmed for an August 18, 2023 release by Warner UK. The news coincides with months of rumours that the film would no longer be releasing via HBO Max in the states.
2023 is shaping up to be a big year for DC with four theatrical releases. The year kicks off Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom releasing on March 17 and is followed by The Flash on June 23. Jamie Reyes big screen debut then follows on August 18 with Batgirl also set to debut at some point later in the year.
Directed by Angel Manuel Soto, Blue Beetle says Xolo Maridueña as Jamie Reyes aka The Blue Beetle. Co-starring are Harvey Guillén, Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpdia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Trujillo and Susan Sarandon.
Warner Bros. Pictures will release Blue Beetle in UK cinemas on August 18, 2023.
