Yesterday we brought you stories on Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers, all fresh from the ViacomCBS presentation to its investors. But there’s one more story which has certainly piqued our interest.
During the call with investors writer-director John Krasinski confirmed that work is now underway to develop a third A Quiet Place movie. Krasinski both wrote and directed the first two entries in the franchise but did not comment on his status for A Quiet Place Part III.
2020’s A Quiet Place Part II ended with Regan Abbott (Millicent Simmonds), daughter of Krasinki’s deceased Lee Abbott, broadcasting a signal which would wipe out the invading alien forces. It’s safe to assume the aliens had more than one nest and any third film could follow Regan, brother Marcus (Noah Jupe) and mum Evelyn (Emily Blunt) as they travel to other cities to help broadcast their signal.
The sequel also introduce a potential new male lead in Cillian Murphy’s Emmett, a family friend of the Abbotts. Not forgetting the feral humans living on the coast who could potential head to the safe island community where Regan now resides.
The potential threequel stands separate from the previously announced spin-off which is set to be directed by Pig’s Michael Samoski. Rumour has it that film may deal with the early days of the alien invasion for a more action-packed glimpse at the A Quiet Place world.
