As part of last nights huge investor update from ViacomCBS we got an update on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Following the currently in development theatrical movie, the company confirmed plans for a number of direct-to-streaming movies.
As per Deadline, the upcoming theatrical CGI-movie will be followed by a series of villain-centric films which will begin rolling out on Paramount+ from 2023. Each film will center on one of the franchise’s storied villains in never-before-told tales, according to the streaming service.
No news yet on which characters may feature in either the theatrical or streaming movies. Its not hard to guess that Shredder will be high on the agenda to be given the solo-treatment however.
The upcoming animated movie, which hits theaters in 2023, is produced by Point Grey Pictures’ Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and directed by Jeff Rowe.
