Some shocking news to kick-off the weekend, but it has been confirmed today that the entire Marvel TV slate will exit Netflix on March 1, 2022. After that date shows including Daredevil and Jessica Jones will no longer be available to stream via the platform which launched the successful small-screen universe.
Other titles including Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the critically maligned crossover series The Defenders will also be making a swift exit from the platform they once called home.
With the announcement of Disney+ and its plans to launch streaming series in the MCU, Netflix quickly axed its entire slate of Marvel producer shows bringing about the end of Marvel Television as a separate entity to Marvel Studios.
Games Radar first reported the news that when playing the shows, a message on screen reads, “This show is available until 1st March.” Not all of the series have been released on Blu-ray though many are also available to purchase on digital platforms such as iTunes.
At the time of writing, no new platform has been announced to house the shows but we wonder if they may turn up on Disney+ in the very near future…
