Synopsis
In the aftermath of the battle, the ideologies of Lord Zedd and Zordon clash, despite a moment of mercy. As the Eltarian War approaches its end, long-awaited emotional resolutions will launch both Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers into the future, but the relationship between two Rangers takes a turn that neither may recover from.
Review
This issue is the penultimate issue of the Eltarian War an event that any Ranger fan would have been reading on the edge of their seat (I certainly have been) This event has been unlike any we have seen throughout the years of the Rangers, we have seen everything from epic battles to unlikely alliances but we’re not quite finished yet.
Issue #16 sees the continuation of The Eltarian War story arc as it begins to reach it’s epic conclusion, Lord Zedd, Zordon and General Zartus battle it put to the bitter end and the power of the grid seems to be the root of the overall problem, power more power than anyone could ever handle but Zartus is certainly hungry for that power the others just need to stop him whichever way they can.
Not only are the readers treated to the most epic of battles between the three guardians, back on Earth the Power Rangers still have one more Empyreal to defeat alongside a swarm of The Horrid who are led by a rather familiar figure, could this be all a bit too much for the Rangers?
Once again Ryan Parrott has penned the most epic story in comics, The Eltarian War is by far my favourite event to have read through and even though it’s coming to an end from what I have read so far Ryan has left the biggest and best until last, the final issue will blow our socks off.
For such an epic story there was only ever going to be one illustrator who could step up once again to the plate and that would be Marco Renna, Marco has single handed produced some of the finest illustrations I have seen in comics. This story arc belongs on the big screen.
Verdict
There could be no doubt that this is going to get a 5⭐ rating. Mighty Morphin is, by far, the best series on the market right now. Every month the series keeps me coming back with jaw-dropping bombshells and masterpiece cliffhangers.
