Synopsis
Faith, Kendra, and Willow struggle valiantly to hold Silas at bay, but it may not be enough. Trapped and devoid of memory, can Buffy escape to save her friends, or is she trapped forever with the ghosts of her past mistakes? WE ARE THE SLAYER comes to its stunning conclusion as Buffy The Vampire Slayer ends… and a new era begins.
Review
There is usually nothing more empowering than a Buffy The Vampire Slayer story arc and this arc has definitely been that, full of power and vampire slaying action at it’s finest but as this particular arc comes to it’s end you may as well take it out in the same way it came in and that’s exactly what Jeremy Lambert and the rest of the creative team have done.
Without Buffy Faith, Kendra, and Willow are left to fend off Silas and his back up, they need to come up with a plan together that will take him down and defeat him once and for all, is Willow strong enough to stand up to the plate? It may just take everything she has but it might just be the only choice, the need to save Buffy and the worlds is far greater. This may be the end of this arc but what is next? Some big clues are given but left in mystery and I can’t wait to find out.
Jeremy Lambert has captured the Buffy lore perfectly bringing a story that is full of powerful inspirational characters and an even bigger vampire kicking story. Suspense is on every page as we watch the essembled group of slayers work together to take down Silas and save humanity. Fans of the series will enjoy reading this arc as it stays true to the story we know and love.
Marianna Ignazzi and the creative team have supplied beautifully crafted illustrations to perfectly capture the story that Jeremy is getting across. Each page is crammed with dark colours and bold illustrations capturing the power of each word, a great job by all involved.
Verdict
A powerfully written story with equally powerful illustrations, Buffy fans are in for a treat. A fitting end to a fantastic arc left on a cliff hanger ending leaving readers wanting more I personally can’t wait to see what the creative team have instore.
