And with stakes unlike anything the Multiverse has seen before, can our coterie of heroes be victorious without paying the ultimate price? The stunning conclusion to a story ten issues in the making arrives with fireworks and heartbreak!
Review
The war is on us, Marit Lage is moving in to wipe out the multiverse and change the world as we know it, the undead have awoken and taking the battle to the Planeswalkers. In the conclusion to this epic story arc choices need to be made for the greater good, hearts will be broken but the fate on the multiverse depends on this moment.
What became one of my favourite comic series, Magic has brought to life my childhood fantasies, hours sat playing the MTG card game imagining the world that I was playing and thanks to Jed McKay I need wonder no more. Jed McKay’s writing has opened up my imagination to a whole new world full of wonderful characters and mysterious worlds. Ig Guara hs once again brought to life this wonderful world in ways I could never have imagined, each page heavy with detail creating mesmerising worlds of epic scale, the creative pairing of these two is probably one of the best duos in comics at the moment.
I personally hope to see different story arcs coming out of this as it definitely feels there are more stories to tell that lie within and seems way to big just to put to bed.
Verdict
A mesmerising series that started off as a slow burner but reaching it’s peak turned the comic completely on it’s head, I personally enjoyed reading every issue and hope the creative team have more in the tank as I would love to read more from the MTG world.
