Synopsis
After the shocking conclusion of the last issue, the remaining members of Chimera are still reeling from their loss, but a prophecy promises them a future full of sacrifice and blood. Meanwhile, Regan and Hannah have survived, but the enemy finds them yet again as a hauntingly familiar voice drifts into their ears, spelling disaster…
Review
From the epic ending of the last issue following the death of Manny, the Chimera are realing but not giving up. Now they are healing and on the hunt for Regan and the hunt is more intense than last time, this time feels more personal. This issue we get to see more of a backround of Hannah and maybe some of the reasons why she is so determined for revenge.
The battle between Chimera and Hannah will not cease, this is only going to go one way and its all building up to an epic ending, this is going to end in a bloodbath.
Cullen Bunn again writes a story that is shocking as well as heartfelt, pulling at the emotions to take the reader on a visual journey. Jonas Scharf brings his unique style to the illustrations bringing the words of Cullen Bunn to life with graphic detail, between them making Basilisk a comic series not to be missed.
Verdict
Basilisk is a series that has grown more intense with every issue. Rapidly becoming a must-read series, I’m gripped by Cullen Bunn’s unravelling story arc. Each issue consistently ramps up the intensity and I cannot recommend this enough for horror fans.
