Today the team at WarnerMedia has launched the European rollout of its HBO Max streaming service. As part of the launch the streamer has debuted a brand new teaser for 2022’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon.
Set 200 years prior to the events of the main series, House of the Dragon tells the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen civil war that became known as the “Dance of the Dragons.”

The series stars Matt Smith as legendary Prince Daemon Targaryen. Co-starring are Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans and Fabien Frankel. It was recently confirmed that Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Graham McTavish, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, and Gavin Spokes have also joined the cast.
Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal will serve as co-showrunners on the series, and will also serve as executive producers along with George R. R. Martin and Vince Gerardis. Martin and Condal co-created the show.
The 10-episode series will air at an unspecified date in 2022.
