To celebrate the official The Last of Us Day, HBO shared a first look at their upcoming live-action adaptation revealing the show’s two main characters. The brand new image gives us our first look at Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Elle as they look to brave the apocalypse together.
We may not get a look at their faces, but fans of the franchise may notice a few little details. The outfits in this first look actually resemble the costumes seen in the games. You can check out the full image below:
Neil Druckmann also shared the image on Twitter and he seems incredibly excited about this upcoming project. The image itself made the rounds on social media and it seems to have had a very positive impact on those who were somewhat anxious about the show.
So far, we know that the series will deviate from the game in some episodes. Although we don’t know to what extent. The first season will consist of 10 episodes with each episode reportedly costing $10 million to make. Alongside Pascal and Ramsey, Gabriel Lunat will star as Joel’s brother Tommy, Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter Sarah, and Marle Dandridge who will reprise her role as Marlene, the learder of the Fireflies.
Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are set to produce The Last of Us series along with Carolyn Strauss (Chernobyl, Game of Thrones), Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.
As always, we’ll be sure to keep you updated as this series develops. In the meantime, you can check out more gaming news, here.
