Exciting news fellow The Witcher fans. As part of Netflix’s Tudum event, the streaming service announced a handful of new projects which will be set in Geralt of Rivia’s world. So what awaits us?
Well, The Witcher has already been renewed for a third Season so the adventures of Geralt and Ciri will continue. Which is fantastic news. On top of that we have the live-action origin story, Blood Origin which tells the story of the first Witcher 1,200 years before Geralt stepped into the spotlight.
Then we have a second anime feature film which will follow on from Nightmare of the Wolf. The first animated film followed Geralt’s mentor, Vesemir.
Finally, Netflix also announced a family-friendly show set in the same universe which will introduce the younger viewers to the dangerous world of Witchers and monsters.
Not much information has been released about these upcoming projects but sign us up for all of them immediately. As always, we’ll be sure to keep you posted on these exciting projects. But for now, you can check out the announcement from The Witcher‘s official Twitter page:
Fancy a taste of what’s to come? Check out this short clip from Season 2 which stars Henry Cavill as Geralt and Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju’s as Nivellen. Hivju’s character is from a short story from The Last Wish called A Grain of Truth. It’s actually one of our favourite stories within The Witcher universe so we’re incredibly excited to see it being brought to life.
