Despite Shazam! Fury of the Gods being released in June of 2023, which is still very very far away, some of the cast and crew have officially wrapped up production on the highly anticipated sequel. David Sandberg confirmed on his Twitter that the crew are so close to finishing with some actors already calling it a day.
So the film hasn’t finished just yet, but the last hurdle is definitely in sight.
Among those who have finished is Asher Angel who plays Billy Batson. Asher announced the news via his Instagram. The actor shared a very sweet picture of himself with Zachary Levi who is suiting up as Shazam once again.
The next question to ask is when will we get a trailer? Since the film is so far away it’s somewhat difficult to determine the right time to drop a teaser. Having said that, DC FanDome is returning in October… Wouldn’t it be great to receive a trailer for both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Black Adam as 2021 nears its end? We don’t want to place any bets just yet, but if this DC FanDome is anything like the first… We’re in for a treat.
David F. Sandberg returns to direct Shazam! Fury of the Gods alongside returning cast members Zacahry Levi, Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer. Joining them will Shazam! family members Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Grace Fulton, D.J. Cotrona and Meagan Good. Joining them will be newcomers Helen Mirren as Hespera, Lucy Liu as Kalypso and Rachel Zegler in an undisclosed role.
