Sony Pictures has confirmed it’s bouncing the release of Venom sequel Let There Be Carnage back by one week. The film, directed by Andy Serkis, now releases on September 24, 2021.
Whilst the clash moves the Tom Hardy sequel away from Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legends of the Ten Rings (September 3) it does move Venom closer to the release of Warner Bros. Dune (October 1). Dune is then followed by even more competition with Universal’s latest 007 release, No Time To Die, currently slated for an October 8 debut.
With so many films delayed with cinemas still closed the back-half of the year is set to be jam packed with huge releases!
Andy Serkis directs Venom 2 which stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, with Michelle Williams returning as Anne Weying. The villainous Carnage will be played by Woody Harrelson who will co-star alongside Naomie Harris, Stephen Graham and Sean Delaney.
