Given that we have officially entered the next Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 4, it’s not a surprise that we won’t be getting a new team up. We’re dealing with new stories and new characters. Much like the very first Phase, Marvel are going to establish these characters first before bringing them together in a new Avengers movie.
While doing press for Marvel’s weird and wacky WandaVision, Kevin Feige discussed the possibilities of another Avengers movie. Here’s what he had to say:
“I would have to think so. I would have to say yes, at some point,”
Now, Phase 4 is looking to be one of the biggest Phases we’ve seen yet. Just as a comparison, Phase 3 consisted of 11 movies. Phase 4, on the other hand, consists of 11 movies as well as several Disney+ series that will crossover to the films.
Back in 2019, Feige dived into what Phase 4 actually means for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Avengers: Endgame is definitely an ending for certain characters. Phase 4 is about new beginnings.
“Phase 4 is about learning new things about characters you already think you know, like Black Widow; meeting incredible new characters like The Eternals and Shang-Chi[.]”
Like with every Avengers movie, the team always face a huge threat- Loki, Ultron, and then Thanos. When we eventually get the next Avengers film… Who could they be facing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
