Snyder Cut enthusiasts are gearing up for, what could be, the biggest release of the year. After years of campaigning, tweeting, and wonderful money raising for suicide prevention, Warner Bros. finally heard the call to release the Snyder Cut and here we are, just months away from witnessing Justice League how it was originally envisioned.
As Justice League‘s release draws closer, the amount of rumors concerning Snyder’s role in the newly established DCEU have increased. After the Justice League can we expect Snyder to sit at the helm of future DC releases?
While speaking with ComicBookDebate, Zack Snyder seemingly confirmed that there are currently no plans for him to make any more DC movies.
You can check out his full statement below.
“Look, I never thought I’d be here doing this. I didn’t think I’d be finishing Justice League… The truth is, and it’s been widely reported, and I have no issue, this is an old movie. This is a years-old movie I’m working on. The DC universe has gone and branched off and done its own thing and that’s fine. As far as what I did and as far as what my vision for what I wanted to do with these characters and the journey I wanted them to go on, it’s well known that I planned on more movies — five movies or something — but I’m busy. I’ve got a lot going on.
Is it cool that the fans have so much faith in the trajectory? Yes, it’s amazing, and I couldn’t be happier and I’m excited for them to see Justice League so they can really drink the entire elixir of Justice League. But would I continue? I have no plan to. But like I said, I didn’t think I’d be here, so who knows?”
If Snyder’s Justice League is successful, could this change? It’s hard to say. However, Jared Leto, who is set to return as The Joker for Justice League, has previously made a statement about working with Zack again, claiming they have lots up their sleeves. Could this be in relation to his vision for his DC universe? Only time will tell.
Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Joining them are Jason Mamoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash.
