In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Zack Snyder revealed some brand new information about his upcoming cut of Justice League. We were able to learn a little bit more about what we can expect. This came just days before Snyder seemingly revealed the release date for the highly anticipated Snydercut.
“Here’s one piece of information nobody knows: The movie is insane and so epic and is probably rated R — that’s one thing I think will happen, that it will be an R-rated version, for sure,”
According to Snyder, MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) haven’t reached a consensus regarding Justice League‘s rating. However, Snyder’s gut is telling him that it will most likely be R-rated. When asked to elaborate on what could push the rating, the director revealed:
“There’s one scene where Batman drops an F-bomb. Cyborg is not too happy with what’s going on with his life before he meets the Justice League, and he tends to speak his mind. And Steppenwolf is pretty much just hacking people in half. So [the rating would be due to] violence and profanity, probably both.”
That’s right. Batman drops the f-bomb and we have no idea where or why. So that’s something to look out for when we eventually see Snyder’s Justice League.
In addition to that, Snyder also discussed the possibility of seeing his cut on the big screen. According to Snyder, there is a definitely a chance. What is important to highlight is that no decisions have been made. This is simply a prospect that the director is now pushing for. If we can birth the Snydercut into existence, anything is possible.
“I’m a huge fan and a big supporter of the cinematic experience, and we’re already talking about Justice League playing theatrically at the same time it’s coming to HBO Max,”
