News breaking today that online streaming platform Hulu has secured the crime drama series Candy and is set to star Elisabeth Moss as the lead.
The project is coming from UCP which is a division of Universal Studio Group and is currently at the writers room stage.
Moss is set to exec produce alongside Lindsey McManus through their Love & Squalor production company and Antosca and Alex Hedlund via their production company Eat The Cat. Jim Atkinson and John Bloom are onboard as consulting producers. Veith, who also wrote on Mad Men, wrote the pilot script. Michael Uppendhal (Mad Men and Fargo) will be the director.
The series is based around a true story of killer Candy Montgomery and her victim, Betty Gore. Moss will play Candy Montgomery, the woman that had it all, a nice house in the brand new suburbs, a husband with two kids, so the question then is why did she kill her friend with an axe?
