Following on from last week’s confirmation that Captain Jack will return, we’ve now got our first look at the Doctor Who holiday special. We’re no longer calling it the Christmas Special as the trailer also confirms the episode will air on New Year’s Day.
With The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) locked away in a high-security alien prison with no hope of escape it’s up to her companions to save the day when the Dalek’s return to cause chaos.
But as previously teased these are Dalek’s we’ve seen before. Their new origin is teased quite heavily in this trailer so be prepared for something a little different…
The special episode will also mark the return of Chris Noth as the disgraced Jack Robertson. Chris Noth previously appeared in the series 11 episode Arachnids in the UK.
Star of the stage and screen Dame Harriet Walter will also be making her Doctor Who debut for the festive special alongside television star Nathan Stewart-Jarrett who has recently appeared in The Trial of Christine Keeler.
