News on Zack Synder’s Justice League has been sparse for the last couple of weeks as the cast worked on new pick-up shots. But in a new interview with Beyond The Trailer, Snyder has confirmed a few more details about the upcoming HBO Max series.
Following earlier rumours, Snyder confirmed that Suicide Squad‘s Jared Leto has returned as Joker. The full discussion on Joker begins shortly after four minutes in the extensive interview below.
“It is true,” said Snyder confirming Leto’s involvement. “I wanted to of course honor what had been created with him because I thought it was really cool; but also in this, I’m not going to tell you what happens in the little scene, but some water has gone under the proverbial bridge between when last we saw Joker and this appearance. So he’s made some…he’s a road-weary Joker, I guess that’s a way of saying it.”
Snyder then added that Leto’s Joker will have somewhat of a new look this time around, “I will say that he was really gracious with his entertaining my idea and I told him it was a thing that I had felt like even when I was working on Justice League in London I felt like was an inevitable course that the movie had to take. So when I told him it was a thing that I’d been kicking around in my head for quite a while I feel like he just kinda warmed up to the idea that was kind of an inevitable thing that kinda of has to happen. I am grateful and I am forever in debt to his kindness for doing it.”
