A while ago, Hot Toys teased an upcoming figure when they released the first images of Ahsoka Tano’s figure. In the corner of one of the images you just just make out part of Maul. Was this the Phantom Menace Maul? just from the smallest inclusion of Maul, it was very easy to tell that this Maul was vastly different to his more iconic look from the first Prequel. Which only led to one conclusion… we would be getting a brand new Darth Maul figure.
Much like Anakin and Obi-Wan, this figure will take the live-action figure and fit it with the outfit they wore in Clone Wars. While it is described as a new sculpt it seems as though the head resembles the Solo head sculpt which depicts Maul as more aged and worn.

So what do you get with this new figure? Like with any Hot Toy, you’ll get a bunch of interchangeable hands (5 gloved hands and 4 bare hands) so you can recreate those epic poses. In addition to those, you’ll also get a pair of motion blades and a Led-lighted lightsaber.
One of the best features is, without a doubt, the inclusion of the Mandalorian sarcophagus used to keep Maul imprisoned after he is beaten during the Siege of Mandalore. However, I can’t imagine it being used since it would mean hiding Maul… but it makes a fantastic accessory. Espeicially with Ahsoka as a companion figure.
Darth Maul is available to pre-order via Sideshow. It is due out towards the end of 2021, so unfortunately an entire year away, and it prices at roughly £200.
