Now here’s a rumour that none of us saw coming. The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Jamie Foxx is in talks to appear in Marvel and Sony’s co-produced Spider-Man 3.
According to the rumour, Foxx is in final talks to reprise the role of Electro. A role he first appeared in back in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
How the character is able to return we are unsure. But it could be, in part, related to the events of WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, both of which promise to alter the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forwards.
Most of the cast from the previous movies — including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori — are expected to be on the call sheet when cameras roll in Atlanta this fall. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing.
Directed once again by Jon Watts, the untitled third Spider-Man film will hit screens on December 17, 2021.
