Variety is reporting that Sony Pictures has hired director S.J. Clarkson to helm a new, mystery project based in the Spider-Man universe.
The identity of the mystery film’s lead is unconfirmed, though Variety’s understands that the studios is looking to Madame Web to headline. Reports have been circulating for a while that Sony has been looking to bring Madame Webb in to the movie world but, for now, this remains unconfirmed.
The report also notes that the film has yet to bring a writer on board officially.
