The latest high profile victim of the coronavirus is Universal Pictures Fast 9. The film had been due to hit cinemas in May but has now moved back 11 months to April 2021.
Though production is complete it is thought that the studio didn’t want to impact on the overall franchise. Fast 9 now hits cinemas on April 2, 2021, if that date rings a bell that’s because it’s the date on which Fast 10 had been due to release.
Moving Fast 9 back to later this year would have meant a very short turnover between the two films and it makes logical sense that the studio has taken the decision to delay both.

Fast 9 is set to hit cinemas on May 22, 2020 and stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Anna Sawai, John Cena, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.
