BOOM! Studios releases first look at BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #13

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BOOM! Studios)

As we much as we refuse to believe it, the Hellmouth crossover event running in the pages of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel comics is finally drawing to a close.

The event has cemented to readers the amount of effort that BOOM! are willing to put in to crafting this new, contemporary version of the so-called Buffyverse in comics. The publisher has now shared this preview for the upcoming thirteenth (unlucky for some) issue.

Before she became the Slayer, Kendra was a young woman in training on the island of Jamaica, fighting vampires under the guidance of her Watcher, and eagerly awaiting the day that she would be called to serve as the Chosen One. But when the vampires in her hometown get out of hand, threatening the safety of her people, will the young not-yet-Slayer have the strength to face them on her own? Or are the burdens too much for one teen to bear?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #13 features main cover art by David López (BlackHand IronHead), as well as variant covers by illustrator Becca Carey, artist Mirka Andolfo (Unnatural), and Valero-O’Connell.

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera; Faithless by Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet; Abbott by Saladin Ahmed and Sami Kivelä; Bury The Lede by Gaby Dunn and Claire Roe; Klaus by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora; Folklords by Matt Kindt and Matt Smith; and The Red Mother by Jeremy Haun and Danny Luckert.
