Huntress
Alias: Helena Bertinelli (in some universes Helena Wayne)
First appearance: All-Star Comics #69 (1977)
Bio: Helena was born in to the Bertinelli crime family and didn’t have the best of starts to life. At age 8 she witnessed the horrific murder of her moth, father and brother. Following the killings she was sent to Sicily where she was raised by her Uncle.
Whilst in Sicily, Helena learned many of the skills she now employs as the vigilante Huntress. Her Uncle taught her to live by the motto “blood cries for blood!” a mantra she continued to live by for some time.
As a young adult Helena returned to Gotham City where she first learned about The Batman. Inspired by his example, Helena took up the mantle of Huntress and began to fight crime in her own way.
She soon caught the attention of The Dark Knight and was brought in to the fold of the Bat-Family. Through her work during the No Man’s Land crisis, Helena became an operative of the former Batgirl, Barbara Gordon, no going by the alias Oracle.
So began her association with the Birds of Prey.
Helena has no metahuman abilities but is a skilled fighter in hand-to-hand combat and accomplished with a crossbow.
