Warner Bros. has announced that Shazam 2 will be hitting cinemas a lot sooner than we had expected. So soon, in fact, that it will be in cinemas just four months after the release of Black Adam!
Late last night the studio confirmed that Zachary Levi will be returning to our screens on April 1st, 2022. It is expected that the first film’s director, David F. Sanberg, will return for the sequel.
For those keeping score that means the upcoming slate of DC Comics films now looks a little like this:
- February 7, 2020 – Birds of Prey
- June 5, 2020 – Wonder Woman 1984
- June 25, 2021 – The Batman
- August 6, 2021 – The Suicide Squad
- December 22, 2021 – Black Adam
- April 1, 2022 – Shazam 2
- July 1, 2022 – The Flash
- December 22, 2022 – Aquaman 2
For a franchise written off by many following Justice League there’s a healthy amount of films current in development.
