    Warner Bros. Confirms UK Home Video Release Plans for Ishana Night Shyamalan’s THE WATCHED

    Warner Bros. UK has announced plans for the home video release of director Ishana Night Shyamalan’s The Watched. The film, which released in UK cinemas a little over a month ago, comes to digital platforms on July 15 and will be followed by a DVD release in August.

    In the film, Mina (played by Dakota Fanning), a 28-year-old artist gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

    Prepare to be on the edge of your seat when Ishana Night Shyamalan’s feature film directorial debut, The Watched, from New Line Cinema arrives for purchase and rental Digitally at home on July 15. The film will also be available to purchase on DVD on August 26. From producer M. Night Shyamalan, The Watched is written for the screen and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan, and is based on the 2022 novel by A.M. Shine.

    ·       On July 15, The Watched will be available for early Premium Digital Ownership at home and for 48-hour rental via PVOD on participating digital platforms where you purchase movies.

    ·       On August 26, The Watched will be available to own on DVD. 

     The Watched follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

     The Watched stars Dakota Fanning (Ripley, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian, Suspicion), Olwen Fouéré (The Northman, The Tourist) and Oliver Finnegan (Creeped Out, Outlander). The film is produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. The executive producers are Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer.

    SYNOPSIS 

    This forest isn’t charted on any map. Every car breaks down at its tree line. Mina’s is no different. Left stranded, she is forced into the dark woodland only to find a woman shouting, urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker. As the door slams behind her, the building is besieged by screams. Mina finds herself in a room with a wall of glass, and an electric light that activates at nightfall, when the Watchers come above ground. These creatures emerge to observe their captive humans and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn’t reach the bunker in time. Afraid and trapped among strangers, Mina is desperate for answers. Who are the Watchers, and why are they keeping the humans imprisoned, keen to watch their every move.
