Following the announcement that Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2 will be releasing in April 2020, we now have our first confirmation of a new cast member.
Co-producer responded to a fan on Twitter confirming that Japanese Spider-Man, whose logo can be seen in the video tease below, WILL be appearing in the highly anticipated sequel.
Back in the 1970’s the Toei company gained the rights to Spider-Man in Japan and brought the character to life in a live-action TV series. The biggest difference with this version of the character? Well this being Japan, he piloted a giant mecha-robot called Leopardon!

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was directed by Bob Persichetti & Peter Ramsey and starred Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin Luna Lauren Velez, Zoe Kravitz, John Mulaney, Kimiko Glenn, Nicholas Cage, Kathryn Hahn, Live Schreiber and Chris Pine.
