Last week it was announced that Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer of the entire Marvel business. Now it seems the ramifications of that promotion may have a profound effect on Marvel Television.
A new rumour suggests that Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb is set to leave the company after losing control to Feige.
According to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, Loeb may have been planning his exit even before Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige was promoted to Chief Creative Officer. Under the terms of the companies latest reorganisation, Loeb would have reported directly to Feige.
Loeb was instrumental in the creation of Agents of SHIELD and other network shows for Marvel including the highly successful Runaways and Cloak & Dagger.
But perhaps his biggest achievement for the company was his landmark deal with Netflix which saw the creation of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Though the shows have not lived long enough their legacy in the Marvel Universe will be long lasting.
Should the rumours be true we wish him the best of luck for his future endeavours.
