Shadow of the Batgirl (DC Comics)

During the Meet The Publishers panel at New York Comic Con co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio discussed the importance of DC Comics new YA line of books.

The series, including the excellent Teen Titans: Raven (reviewed here) has been a huge success for the publisher who also announced several new books.

At the Super-Powered YA: DC Reads for Your #TBR Pile panel, DC surprised fans with special advance looks at a number of upcoming young adult graphic novels including Shadow of the Batgirl.

Making their first public appearance as a creative team, author Sarah Kuhn and artist Nicole Goux spoke in-depth to gathered fans about their original take on Cassandra Cain. The discussion highlighted the importance of neurodiversity in fiction and Kuhn and Goux explained the creative process behind telling Cassandra’s journey from having difficulty speaking to becoming a vocal character. Panel attendees were also treated to a first look at new artwork for the upcoming graphic novel which is slated to hit stores February 4, 2020.
