It has been 13 years since Arrow’s Brandon Routh donned Superman’s iconic cape. Everyone thought it might be the last time, but it seems that the CW will be putting all of their cards on the table for the big crossover this year.
Routh, who stars in Legends of Tomorrow as Ray Palmer, aka The Atom, will apparently return to his role as Clark Kent in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
Alongside Routh, Tyler Hoechlin will also reprise his role as Superman in the crossover.
What I believe this means is that we will be visiting other earths during the 5 episode crossover, and one of those visits will be to the universe in which Superman Returns and, indeed, the Christopher Reeve Superman films are set in.
More details concerning Routh’s return will be released at San Diego Comic-Con. We will be sure to update you as to what this means for the crossover. Although one thing is certain, this is a massive deal for Superman fans and the CW.
The upcoming crossover will span five episodes- Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman – and is set to begin in December with 3 episodes and then the remaining 2 in January 2020.
