It seems there may be more changes ahead for the long gestating The Flash over at Warner Bros./DC Films. The movie has had a revolving door of screenwriters and directors over the past few years at Warner sought to find the perfect team to bring the project to the big screen.
THR is reporting that most recent additions, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, have quietly exited the project and have been replaced by IT director Andy Muschietti.
When we last heard about The Flash star Ezra Miller was working with legendary comics writer Grant Morrison on a new version of the screenplay. This was rumoured to be because Miller wanted to keep a darker version of the character whilst Daly and Goldstein had pitched a more comic accurate, lighter version of the movie.
This latest report understands that Warner Bros. has decided not to move forward with Miller and Morrison’s version of the script and has instead brought in writers Christina Hodson.
Hodson wrote the script for Birds of Prey and has also been developing a Batgirl script for the studio.
Prep on the movie is said to start in early 2020.
