Yesterday the review embargo lifted on Spider-Man: Far From Home and now we can tell you what the critics thought of Tom Holland’s latest adventure.
The film currently holds a 90% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a critics consensus which reads:
A breezily unpredictable blend of teen romance and superhero action, Spider-Man: Far from Home stylishly sets the stage for the next era of the MCU.
We saw the film last night and will be working on our review today! But in the meantime here’s what some of the other critics thought of Far From Home:
LA Times
“Far From Home,” for all its dazzle and speed, has simpler, humbler aspirations and fulfills them well enough.
Chicago Tribune
How’s the new movie? It’s good. It’s fun. [3/4]
EW
I wound up liking Far From Home more than any Spider-Man film this decade. [B]
The Guardian
Tom Holland is still very winning as Spidey. [3/5]
The Telegraph
Spider-Man: Far From Home offers a breezy, Europe-set intermezzo between Avengers: Endgame and whatever is coming next – a kind of sorbet in blockbuster form to punctuate the binge. [3/5]
IndieWire
The Spider-Man we find at the end of the movie is no different than the one we met at the start…you can’t help but feel like he could have learned all of the same things without leaving Queens or wasting our time. [C]
Discussing Film
Spider-Man: Far From Home is a bristling extravaganza which lands ten times better than Homecoming. It is hilarious, charming and the twists are brilliantly intriguing. [4/5]
Screen Junkies
Not just a fun movie, but a great summer movie. Big action, a great cast, some laughs, some thrills, and you can go see it again. [8/10]
Bleeding Cool
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the perfect way to end the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; with humor and a ton of heart. [9/10]
