After months of speculation it seems that Disney has confirmed it WILL be releasing X-Men franchise movie New Mutants.
During their CinemaCon presentation yesterday (reported by CBR) the movie was listed on a release slate which the studio presented to attendees. Though it wasn’t confirmed exactly how, when or where the release will happen we still don’t know if the movie will make its planned August release date.
In recent months even cast members of the movie have been unable to update fans on exactly what is going on. There has been plenty of rumours around planned reshoots but it has also been confirmed those reshoots have never taken place.
With the movie initially due for release back in 2018 it seems it has been in nothing but release limbo for the past 12 months.
New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga, and Alice Braga. The film is directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay by Boone and Knate Lee. Production credits go to Simon Kinberg, Lauren Schuler Donner and Karen Rosenfelt.
New Mutants now hits cinemas August 2, 2019.
