Long-time X-Men producer Simon Kinberg faces a potentially uncertain future as the property now completes its move over to control at Disney.
With the 20th Century Fox merger now completed it’s up to the Mouse and Marvel Studios Kevin Feige to decide what comes next for our favourite group of mutants.
One movie which has long (LONG) been in development hell is Gambit. On a recent interview with Variety Kinberg has discussed Disney’s current process with its newly acquired Marvel properties.
“Since the merger happened, all of the movies at Fox, not just the Marvel movies, are being evaluated,” Kinberg said. “And [Disney will] figure out what they want to do with them.”
“I love the idea of Channing [Tatum] playing Gambit,” he continued. “I think we have a great script for it and I think it’s a role he was born to play. It’s a character I grew up loving and I know the fans love. So I suspect, I hope it will happen.”
Could the Gambit movie finally come unstuck thanks to the powers-that-be at Marvel Studios?
