EW has debuted this new look at the team from Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 6. The moody new portrait features new looks at the titular team alongside the evil version of Phil Coulson who will be debuting when the series returns in May.
In the accompanying article EW confirmed that Hollywood veteran Lou Diamond Phillips will be directing the fifth episode of the upcoming season. Speaking of his work on the show Diamond said:
I got the call when I was directing Fear of the Walking Dead down in Austin: ‘Would you direct an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?’ ‘Yeah, done.’ Instant answer, because of the world, because it’s Marvel. It’s big. It’s comic-book stuff. It’s action. It’s mythology. It’s science-fiction. It’s all of that rolled into one. And of course my old friend Ming-Na was on it. That’s crazy, that’s wonderful!

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is set to return in May 2019 on ABC in North America. Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Ian De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge, Nick Blood, Jeff Ward, Eve Harlow, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Coy Stewart star.
