Last month we brought you news that Warner Bros. had begun casting on its upcoming Scooby Doo animated movie.
Overnight news has broken that the studio has now cast two big names for the roles of sometime-damsel-in-distress Daphne and group leader Fred. The pair have been stalwarts of the franchise from its inception back in 1969.
Zac Efron (High School Musical, Bag Neighbours) will take on the role of Fred whilst Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!) will play Daphne.
They join the previously announced Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!) as the titular Great Dane, Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) as Shaggy Rogers, Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) as Velma Dinkley, and Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) as Captain Caveman.
Scooby Doo is set for release on May 15, 2020.
