Today we’re taking a deep dive on the latest trailer for Marvel Studios Avengers: Endgame. But before we do why not treat yourself and have a watch of the trailer one more time!
Following on from our deep dive on the Big Game Spot we though we’d take a look at some of the details in the this latest trailer.
Black, White and Red
Following that Big Game Spot the second full trailer for Endgame continues to utilise black and white footage with just a dash of red.
The desaturated footage takes a look back over the history of the MCU. We see several key moments important to each of the original six Avengers past.
Each moment pushes the emotionality of the overall trailer by reminding us what gives the characters their heart.
Hawkeye Under House Arrest
In this scene we see Clint Barton training a young, female protégée. Could this be his daughter? In later scenes his image is drastically distant which leads us to wonder if the movie will flashback to before The Snap to catch us up on what the Barton family has been up to.
We know he wa sunder house arrest much like Scott Lang and in the scene above you can clearly see what appears to be an ankle bracelet.
The loss of his family seems like a fair enough reason to bring Hawkeye back in to the fight.
How Does AntMAn eEscape the Quantum Realm
From this scene it seems Scott Lang is a little confused by events of Infinity War. We know that Scott was in the Quantum Realm when his team turned to dust. So just how was he able to escape?
We know from the Big Game Spot he eventually makes his way to the Avengers base but we’ve got a lot of questions about how he gets to this point.
Could the time travel aspect come in to play here?
Thor’s Guilt
It’s fair to say from this short scene that Thor is feeling rather guilty for his actions in Infinity War. How will failing to land the killing blow to Thanos leave the character when the action picks back up?
I would love to see the character, already grieving the loss of his home, with the weight of half the universe on his shoulders. It would be a huge burden for anyone even a The God of Thunder.
His arc in Endgame could potentially be one of the most interesting in the entire movie. If this turns out to be Chris Hemsworth’s final Marvel appearance.
The Ultimate Sacrifice?
There’s very little footage from any battle scenes in the trailer. Towards the end of the trailer there are some quick shots of Ant-Man in action followed by this intense shot of Cap.
This clearly goes hand-in-hand with the shot of him strapping the classic shield to his arm. Could this be Captain America’s final stand against Thanos before making the ultimate sacrifice.
The look on his face certainlyportarays a level of determination to win the fight. With many of Marvel’s A-List stars at the end of their contract who do you think is likely to bite the dust in Endgame?
Stark Scenes Updated
Both the first trailer and the Super Bowl spot showed off footage of Tony Stark adrift in space. Here those scenes have been updated to make the character appear much more gaunt.
Those scenes were harrowing enough the first time, with his emotional voice over to Pepper.
This latest trailer certainly seems to be pushing the audience to think that all might not end well for Iron Man.
Quantum Suits
The Avengers new suits have ben teased through toy leaks for a while now. Whilst we have no concept as to what these suits means it’s not hard to draw the conclusion that it is connected to the Quantum Realm.
Many theories regarding how the team will eventually defeat Thanos point to the Quantum Realm and its potential for time/dimensional travel.
Could this be the scene where the Avengers decide to take drastic action to bring back their loved ones?
Thor-vel?
The final scene in the trailer is something fans have been wanting to see for quite some time now. Finally we get to see Captain Marve interact with more of the Avengers.
Whilst we’re sure this scene will have created a whole new ship we think it’s more likely Carol Danvers will become a close friend and ally to the team.
She may even instrumental in helping Thor find his fight again after the events of the previous movie. Either way this scene is a nice little nod to the classic Marvel humour.
After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.
