We’ve been hearing for a while that Titans is gearing up to being production on its second season in March/April. There have also been plenty of rumours as to which villains we might see pop up when the series returns.
In some extremely exciting news for comic book fans Deadline has revealed that Criminal Minds and Bad Boys star Esai Morales been cast in the role.
“Slade Wilson is known for being DC’s deadliest assassin,” reads the official press release detailing this take on the character. “While serving his country, Slade became an elite soldier before government testing enhanced his physiology to near superhuman levels, putting him on a path of darkness and revenge.”
TV fans will know the character following Manu Bennett’s excellent portrayal in The CW’s DCTV universe. Joe Manganiello was also cast to play the character back when Ben Affleck was due to direct, and star in, his own Batman film. Manganiello’s version had a brief cameo at the end of the Justice League movie.
Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Robin, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dove. Season 2 doesn’t yet have a release date.
