Yesterday the news became official: Aquaman has crossed $1bn world-wide.
Only the third DC Comics movie to cross the figure makes this milestone a big deal. James Wan’s aquatic adventure has now surpassed the lifetime gross of The Dark Knight, a movie which many believe the greatest comic book movie of all time.
Now director James Wan has released a short statement thanking fans and the movies cast and crew for helping it reach such a milestone. Taking to Twitter the director said:

The film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
