It’s safe to say that the full title of the Birds of Prey movie left a few people scratching their heads. There’s no doubting that Birds of Prey (And The Fantabuous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is quite a mouthful.
Star (and producer) Margot Robbie recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and the host asked her what made the team choose such a wordy title.
“That’s real,” Robbie confirmed. “Yeah, that’s the title. It’s not going to be … It’s not a very serious movie. Birds of Prey makes it sound very serious, and then that [subtitle is] Harley kind of going ‘Hey, here I am.’”
We don’t know about you but that definitely makes it clear this movie has its tongue firmly planted in its cheek. At least where it counts.
Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. The movie will be directed by Cathy Yan and arrives in cinemas on February 7, 2020.
