Overnight Variety has broken the news that Warner Bros. has found it’s Cassandra Cain. The role has long remained the last piece in the casting puzzle for DC movie Birds of Prey.
It is said that newcomer Ella Jay Basco is in negotiations with the studio to join the pic ahead of it’s 2019 production. Basco is a newcomer to Hollywood having only appeared in episodes of shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Veep.
Birds of Prey stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. The movie will be directed by Cathy Yan and arrives in cinemas on February 7, 2020.
