With cameras set to roll in just a few months time we’re beginning to hear gossip about Birds of Prey. In this latest report Revenge of the Fans has uncovered some potential plot details about the movie.
Their details focus on what the characters are up to when the movie starts:
- Black Canary is a singer who fights crime at night.
- Huntress was a killer for Black Mask right up until discovering that he killed her family. So now she’s hunting him down.
- Harley Quinn is trying to move on from The Joker (who is referenced, but not seen).
- Renee Montoya, on the other hand, is on Huntress and Black Mask’s trail because of the body count they’ve amassed.
As we’ve heard previously the story will centre about Cassandra Cain. It’s said that in the script Cain is around 12 years old. She will be kidnapped by Black Mask who wants to use her assassin skills to take over for Huntress.
Don’t expect a huge third act rescue for Cain however. The site understands she will be rescued early in the movie (a la Logan) and the rest of the story will focus on the Birds taking down Black Mask. The site is also reporting that Warner Bros. has lined up an “epic cameo” for the movie. They don’t reveal who it is as they want to do further digging first.
Birds of Prey stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. The movie will be directed by Cathy Yan and arrives in cinemas on February 7, 2020.
