Following yesterday’s announcement that the film will be released in February 2020 we now have some exciting casting news for Birds of Prey.
Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. has cast Mary Elizabeth Wanstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) as Helena Bertinelli/Huntress and Underground star Jurnee Smollett-Bell at Dinah Lance/Black Canary!
The trade confirms that Batgirl will not appear in the movie (we’ll update the banner eventually). Interestingly the piece notes this is a Gotham with no sign of Batman. Whether his absence will be explained remains to be seen!
Casting is yet to be announced for the unnamed crime lord who the Birds will be up against. Similarly we have no casting news for Cassandra Cain or Renee Montoya at this stage.
Birds of Prey is due for release February 7, 2020.
