Aquaman director James Wan is about to become a Funko POP! vinyl character. It’s recently been announced the James Wan POP! will be exclusively available at San Diego Comic Con in July.
To celebrate the director posted a photo of his POP! posting for the camera to his Instagram. Eagle eyed fans immediately spotted what was going on in the background.
It appears Wan took the photo whilst in the edit bay working on Aquaman. On the screen behind him we can see the ‘Property of Warner Bros’ test and a very teasing image.
It looks like an intense underwater fight sequence is being put together at the moment. This is our first good look at a scene from the movie. But also confirms that the team are still working on final polishing before that first trailer premieres at SDCC soon.

“It’s interesting to see how different filmmakers approach the same characters. We got to meet Mera in an introduction and I think Zack’s approach highlighted what you would want to highlight if you were just meeting her as a commanding warrior.
“We wanted to honor the comic books,” she continued, “I wanted to stick with how she’s depicted in the comic books in a superficial way, I wanted to go full comic book as to how she looks, but it’s in the nuance of her personality where I wanted to push the boundaries.”
With respect to her power-set, she added, “So there’s an old-fashioned hierarchy in their society that they rule Atlantis. There are different tribe communities within the social hierarchy. Some of us have certain superpowers and I have hydrokinesis — not just making bubbles.”
Aquaman stars Jason Momoa in the title role of Arthur Curry/Aquaman. The film also stars Amber Heard as Mera; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren as Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta; with Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
The film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
