Whilst the build up continues for the second season of Jessica Jones its star has been discussing her other Marvel series The Defenders. After a hugely successful first season of her solo series Krysten Ritter jumped straight in to the team up series.
The first season consisted of eight episodes which received a lukewarm reception from fans and critics alike. Though the overall product was enjoyable it lacked some of the heart and grit of the characters solo series.
In an interview with Vulture Ritter has suggested there may not be a second team-up series for the Marvel Netflix heroes.
“Y’know, I had a great time doing The Defenders and honestly, it was such a good experience that I would even do it again. I don’t think we are doing it again.”
She goes on to suggest there may never have been a plan for a second season. This lends credence to the rumours that going forward Marvel will focus on the solo characters with smaller team-up episodes within those seasons.
“It was never intentioned to do it again, but, you know, if I was given another opportunity, I would,”
The second season of Jessica Jones hits Netflix today (March, 8).
