After a hugely successful weekend at the box office Star Wars: The Last Jedi is heading for a milestone. After grossing $450M over the weekend the film took an estimated $22.2M internationally on Monday and $21.5M in North America.
That added $43.7M means the film now sits at approx $494M worldwide by close of play Monday. Undoubtedly the film crossed $500M yesterday and we should get confirmation of that later today.
With Pitch Perfect 3 and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle released this week it faces some stiff competition at the box office this weekend.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis, as well as Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
The film is in cinemas worldwide now!
