Following on from earlier Avengers: Infinity cover reveals we’ve got a few tidbits of info from the Vanity Fair article. It’s a long read but one that’s worthwhile to any fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From it’s beginnings to Kevin Feige’s grand plans for box office domination the article covers all corners of the MCU world.
Focussing on the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War Feige is quick to point out the film will act a finale or sorts to all which came before it.
“[Avengers: Infinity War will] bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale. There will be two distinct periods. Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting,”
The article points to multiple potential character deaths as a way to close the door on those early films. To propel the Marvel Cinematic Universe in to it’s fourth phase the franchise is going to be looking to new locations to keep the pot fresh. Feige tells the trade:
“22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before—intentionally,”
His sentiments are echoed by Disney C.E.O. Bob Iger:
“We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate—geographically or in time—from the worlds that we’ve already visited,”
